A new study has indicated that consuming coffee or tea daily may reduce the chances of developing brain cancer.

The conclusion is based on analysis of data concerning the dietary habits of more than 410,000 men and women between the ages of 25 and 70, according to the study conducted by an international team of researchers.

The study involved participants from France, the Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Britain, Greece, Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Germany.

Participants were recruited between 1991 and 2000, and were tracked over the course of about 8.5 years. During that time, food surveys were completed to gauge, among other things, the amount of tea and coffee each participant consumed, reports English .

During the study, 343 new cases of glioma were diagnosed, as were 245 new cases of meningioma, another cancer that affects tissue surrounding the brain and spinal cord.

The findings show that coffee and tea may protect against brain cancer, specifically in the form of glioma, a cancer of the central nervous system that originates in the brain and/or spinal cord.

By stacking drinking patterns against brain cancer incidence, the research team found that drinking 100 mL (or 0.4 cups) per day and above lowered the risk of gliomas by 34 per cent.

The study is published in the November issue of the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition .

My heart is a traitor...

“Why do we have to listen to our hearts?” the boy asked, when they had made camp that day.

“Because, wherever your heart is, that is where you’ll find your treasure.”

“But my heart is agitated,” the boy said. “It has its dreams, it gets emotional, and it’s become passionate over a woman of the desert. It asks things of me, and it keeps me from sleeping many nights, when I’m thinking about her.”

“Well, that’s good. Your heart is alive. Keep listening to what it has to say.”

“My heart is a traitor,” the boy said to the alchemist, when they had paused to rest the horses. “It doesn’t want me to go on.”

“That makes sense. Naturally it’s afraid that, in pursuing your dream, you might lose everything you’ve won.”

“Well, then, why should I listen to my heart?”

“Because you will never again be able to keep it quiet. Even if you pretend not to have heard what it tells you, it will always be there inside you, repeating to you what you’re thinking about life and about the world.”

“You mean I should listen, even if it’s treasonous?”

“Treason is a blow that comes unexpectedly. If you know your heart well, it will never be able to do that to you. Because you’ll know its dreams and wishes, and will know how to deal with them.

“My heart is afraid that it will have to suffer,” the boy told the alchemist one night as they looked up at the moonless sky.

“Tell your heart that the fear of suffering is worse than the suffering itself. And that no heart has ever suffered when it goes in search of its dreams, because every second of the search is a second’s encounter with God and with eternity.”

“Every second of the search is an encounter with God,” the boy told his heart. “When I have been truly searching for my treasure, every day has been luminous, because I’ve known that every hour was a part of the dream that I would find it. When I have been truly searching for my treasure, I’ve discovered things along the way that I never would have seen had I not had the courage to try things that seemed impossible for a shepherd to achieve.”

So his heart was quiet for an entire afternoon. “Everyone on earth has a treasure that awaits him,” his heart said. “We, people’s hearts, seldom say much about those treasures, because people no longer want to go in search of them. We speak of them only to children. Later, we simply let life proceed, in its own direction, toward its own fate. But, unfortunately, very few follow the path laid out for them—the path to their destinies, and to happiness. Most people see the world as a threatening place, and, because they do, the world turns out indeed, to be threatening place.

“So, we, their hearts, speak more and more softly. We never stop speaking out, but we begin to hope that our words won’t be heard: we don’t want people to suffer because they don’t follow their hearts.”

Declaration Of Principes by Paulo Coelho

1] All human beings are different. And should do everything possible to continue to be so.
2] Each human being has been granted two courses of action: that of deed and that of contemplation. Both lead to the same place.
3] Each human being has been granted two qualities: power and gift. Power drives a person to meet his/her destiny, his gift obliges that person to share with others which is good in him/her. A human being must know when to use power, and when to use compassion.
4] Each human being has been granted a virtue: the capacity to choose. For he/she who does not use this virtue, it becomes a curse – and others will always choose for him/her.
5] Each human being has the right to two blessings, which are: the blessing to do right, and the blessing to err. In the latter case, there is always a path of learning leading to the right way.
6] Each human being has his own sexual profile, and should exercise it without guilt – provided he does not oblige others to exercise it with him/her.
7] Each human being has his own Personal Legend to be fulfilled, and this is the reason he is in the world. The Personal Legend is manifest in his enthusiasm for what she/he does.
Single paragraph – the Personal Legend may be abandoned for a certain time, provided one does not forget it and returns as soon as possible.
8] Each man has a feminine side, and each woman has a masculine side. It is necessary to use discipline with intuition, and to use intuition objectively.
9] Each human being must know two languages: the language of society and the language of the omens. The first serves for communication with others. The second serves to interpret messages from God.
10] Each human being has the right to seek out joy, joy being understood as something which makes one content – not necessarily that which makes others content.
11] Each human being must keep alight within him the sacred flame of madness. And must behave like a normal person.
12] The only faults considered grave are the following: not respecting the rights of one’s neighbor, letting oneself be paralyzed by fear, feeling guilty, thinking one does not deserve the good and bad which occurs in life, and being a coward.
Paragraph 1 – we shall love our adversaries, but not make alliances with them. They are placed in our way to test our sword, and deserve the respect of our fight.
Paragraph 2 – we shall choose our adversaries, not the other way around.
12A] We hereby declare the end to the wall dividing the sacred from the profane: from now on, all is sacred.
14] Everything which is done in the present, affects the future by consequence, and the past by redemption.
15] The impossible is possible

Dreams Calling..

Hectic schedules, stress and excess workload have made sound sleep a luxury for many. But a few lifestyle changes can make for a restful night, say experts.

Helpful wind-down routines include a bath, a hot milky drink, switching off the television and computer, getting clothes ready for the morning, listening to soothing music and planning the next day's schedule, help in relaxing minds which leads to sound sleep.
Experts say the surroundings could be rearranged to create an atmosphere more suited to sleep. Sleeping with the television on should be avoided as the waves disrupt sleep patterns.

To sleep well, there needs to be a fractional temperature difference between our body and our brain, a warm body and a cool head.

If a person prepares for sleep well before midnight (between 10 p.m. and 11 p.m.), he stands a much better chance of getting a good sleep.

Vital deep sleep occurs an hour or so after a person drops off. So one can optimise the quality of this initial stage by going to bed at a reasonable hour.

Experts also say that one should have breakfast within half-an-hour of waking. This not only stimulates body metabolism, but when one eats a healthy breakfast, the person starts to create the perfect internal chemistry for optimal sleep.

It is always good to keep a gap of 90 minutes between eating dinner and going to bed. A heavy meal late in the evening disrupts sleep pattern.

Consuming two-to-three litres of fluid throughout the day will help keep the body hydrated and improve the quality of sleep. However, caffeine should be avoided as it dehydrates the body.

Half an hour of gentle exercise every day boosts the production of hormones that makes a person feel relaxed, such as endorphins and serotonin, as well as helping to shift excess weight and improve breathing and energy levels.

To relax one's mind at bedtime, a person should think about something he or she really enjoys doing, like an activity or the memory of a perfect day. The person should run it through in the mind like a film and slow it right down. This exercise will make a person relaxed, peaceful and ultimately sleepy.

Sarah..

Sarah..remembring you after along gap of lives though you stay with me all the time like a friend of me..I thought to meet you once again..should we start from the same river where you'd firstly appeared to me..I like the way you think and react.Lets start with another white shade of you..

It was beautiful october morning..she wakes up and looks around for her cell, she puts the music after her pray, and start preparing for the office..music makes things sing.. its been eleven months she did'nt meet him.Still she sees no chance of saying him a single hello, why would she ? They talked,laughed,cried..promises cost nothing when you decide to leave a complete entity of you behind those charming moments. And now what..zero gravity !
She takes the car and heads for her office..She does'nt want to memorise any of the moment she'd spent with him..Those were the beautiful times but all got burnt in the fire of ego, sarcasm, leading, lagging and unavoidable artifice..

..write you later.

Poor posture while on PC

Poor posture is the scourge of our times. We spend more hours slouched in front of a computer screen than any previous generation. Not surprisingly, neck and shoulder problems have become increasingly common.

A study conducted among 101 employees of a multinational company by the Industrial Design Centre at the Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai, found that 23 per cent of the group suffered from neck pain and 10 per cent from shoulder pain.

Heena Garude, chief physiotherapist at Lilavati Hospital, says that poor posture is the root cause of all our neck and shoulder ills. "When people are in a desk job, their position is no longer erect," she says. "The muscles supporting the neck get tired. The neck and shoulder slowly protrude."

This 'protruded neck posture' can lead to stiffness. Since there is no quick fix solution, you have be mindful of how you sit at all times. You can achieve this by replacing your chair with a stability ball.

"It forces you to sit upright and focus on your centre of gravity so that you don't fall," says Madhuri Ruia, proprietor of Integym, a fitness studio in Mumbai. "It makes you totally aware of the position of your spine."

Precautions don't force the neck to move past the comfortable range. There should be space around you as the ball may roll. If you find it too difficult to use a stability ball at first, try using your bed or flat bench. Keep your eyes open while doing these exercises as your vision will be an important part of maintaining your balance.

Heath Matthews is a physiotherapist with Mittal Champions Trust What size for me? Hips and knees should be bent at 90 deg while sitting on a stability ball. If knee to ground height is 45 cm then add 3 cm so the 55 cm ball is suitable not just posturing your PC and keypad should be in the same vertical line. Your keyboard should be located close to your body. The keyboard should be level with your arms when bent at right angles. The top of the monitor should be level with your eyes. Take a walk after 30 minutes of computer use.

Who I am Really

(Excerpted from Vedant)

We have no business to be unhappy, when our essentials nature is infinite bliss.Sorrow, incompleteness, insecurity and tension are due to our false identification. The solution is not the company of people acquiring more wealth, visiting analyst or getting sympathy from others, but to know one's tre nature and abide by it.

So who I am truly ?

The things outside my body are not me.I am not my House nor Money, however much I love them. They are acquired and can be given up either willingly or unwillingly.I can live without them even if I miss them.Is the body me? I shall give it up at Death.Every night I give up identification with it and go to sleep and each morning wake up to identify with it again.I have identified with it in various states and conditions-Childhood,Youth,Adulthood,Healthy and Unhealthy. So which is me ? Body cells are constantly dying and new ones replacing them.Am i the dying ones or the new ones?

I can donate my blood to someone else who uses them as his own, whose is this blood after transfusion, his or mine? This body, too, becomes a burden to us sometimes. So can this body be my essential nature ?surely not.
The mind is a continous flow of thoughts, good, bad or indifferent, that flash from morning to night. Can we ever count the total number of thoughts we have in one life?.Which of these thoughts is me? Thoughts are a burden too-Fear ,Anger,Worry and such. Some unburden their sorrows on others, some try to drown-it in drink.
This whimsical mind is surely not me.What then,is my real nature? Only the state of meditation and awakeness will help me find my true nature, which is infinite Bliss or finding that nature and abiding in it true Liberation.

To be or Not to be

Something is on the verge of getting mislead with time..Stressed mind with stressed soul..the only thing which most of the librans hate is to take decision...why we have to take decision ? can not we let ourselves flow with time ? Physically we can bear many weights at a time but mentally we get sick..the prospect of taking wrong or untimely way fills me with dread. The only question i want to ask with the creator is why we have given mind and heart at a same time. Two very different entities in a very same person..

Limits.. which we make for ourselves to make us free from the erroneous consequences. But what to do when we don't know whether we are limiting ourself or its just a mirage, and in the way of constricting we are giving ourself a more freedom to taste the charm of seeing unforeseen...I would love to follow my limts but i don't know where should it ends..i want to limit my unlimitedness..i got hundreds of wings out of which ninety nine follow my dreams..I want to make the time deprive of its existence !
Why to live with the worry of unforseen..but i live..can't stop myself from balancing all the pros and cons...and ofcourse humans..Sometimes i hate myself for being this much selfish..why cant i stop my thinking..because this is the actual existence of my presence..i live in dreams as someday they will live me....it might be possible, that ..that day could be the last day of my presence on this beautiful world..but who knows ..my already reserved window seat of heaven will be welcoming my soul with the tree of my fulfilled dreams..and angels giving me the joy of seeing another thousand dreams...these two angels sitting on my shoulders.. whom i met from the time i entered this life, guard my sins and virtues very well and know all my doings..are the good friends of mine..and i am sure their presence would never let myself on the wrong way..Walking in the wrong manner fears me the most, but also hinders my joy of experiencing the charm of doing sins..

Again..i hate making decisions..keeping my writing unwrite i am ending my thoughts here..as there are too many minds.

SILENCE...

Silence...
When you are you,
when you experience God within you,
when you are not there from where you are feeling silence,
somewhere else ...
when your future takes you towards your past,
when each and every atom of you shouts...within you..flying in your blood..
when your eyes rejecting the vision,
it is not always a child's smile..sometimes yours too !
Feel ,your future still meeting your past, voice is paining because of fatigue..
air air air ...atoms shouting..
i am trapped in emotions, craving for a window from where i can see a sun...
Someone give energy to my weakness..i am still fighting with emotions,
with every fight i become stronger and heal an emotional wound,
seeing my breaths reduces to zero,i want to cry out loudly to break my silence...
You can hear 'their' footsteps, listen ...
eyes are rejecting vision, not the voice,
You can hear your Life and that hearing is Silence !

Human Nature

Tongue... area of expressing your mind and your body. The way we speak is the only source for others to get us most of the times. The words we speak reveal a lot about us..our attitude, thinking and finally our personality or nature or 'type'.

In last two three months i came into contact with several human natures,i respect all as we cant object someone on showing their traits ..Some were good some were not so good, bad is no word as somewhere it must be good for someone..
Coming onto tongue..I dislike rough and harsh words..everybody dislike but most of these'everybody' do use the same. For me words are like worship..People won't look into your heart or brain to see whats there, they act on your vocal cords..I meet ,work with people who are influential in their profession..Out of those i don't like few specially individuals or 'individual' with sharp,or dirty tongue..These persons look ugly when they use their bad aspect of treating others and will remain ugly throughout their lives with their bitter words and bitter eyes..
You know your eyes also turn themselves in bad shape..Satan words satan appearance that is what people see in you when you are harsh..Speak beautiful and look beautiful, here beautiful means anything which is not hurting others.Such persons think they are gaining respect of others and others will adore their sharpness, and intelligence, but for me they are biggest Stupid and foolest being using this gift (tongue)of theirs in vain..and can wreak havoc on minds ! ...
I like pleasant ,unruffled people ...serene eyes with loads of hidden words to speak..like the eyes of our mother..encouraging to find truth not the obvious ! ...
You will loose nothing in uttering pious stuff...God has given us many ways to make things right,if you have power than use it to bring out best from others..Never hurt anybody with your sayings. It may cost you heavily..

With words...
Urfi
